How does Individual Psychotherapy work?
As a Clinical Psychologist, part of my services is to offer individual psychotherapy. My role in the therapy is to empathetically walk with you through the challenges of life, difficulties you may be experiences, and to have the uncomfortable conversations to help you relieve distress, heal, and embrace a healthier mental state. I achieve this with my clients through dialogue, empathy, and co-creating a safe space and non-judgemental space in which to share their difficulties.
Individual therapy is an intricate and personalised process, based on the needs and challenges of the patient. As a Clinical Psychologist, my main contribution is to help you work through and addressing your distress. I help you explore your experiences and interactions, and together through joint effort I can help in reaching your therapeutic goals, relieving distress, or changing aspects of your life.

What can I expect from the first consultation?
When you arrive, you will be asked to complete a normal intake form. Thereafter, the first consultation will begin, where you can express what brings you to the psychologist. When you first meet with me, we will work together to set specific goals based on what you want to achieve and will agree on the duration and frequency for visits.
How long is a session?
A session is 50 minutes long, depending on the process in therapy and need of the individual client
How many sessions will I need
As therapy is an individualized form of treatment, the number of sessions required may differ from one client to the next depending on the complexity or severity of their problem.
Some clients would require the minimum of four sessions, and some may require continued long-term psychotherapy. The number of required sessions may be estimated after the first session.
